Each home is specially designed 100% self-sufficient Green. Upon competion each home will be certified independantly to have the highest energy efficientcy rating possible.
All electricity is generated (1000kwh per month) by a combination of roof mounted solar panels and wind turbines. The system has a battery back-up reserve of 3 days and is tied into the grid. So any overflow each month generates a check for the homeowner instead of a bill.
The heating needs are met through solar powered radiant floor heating throughout. The special passive thermal design of the homes maximizes cooling in the summer and heating in the winter. Addtionally there is a wall mounted electrical heat pump and two main floor high-efficency fire places in the livingroom and master suit.
Water needs ae met through a naturally soft water rain collection, ground well back-up, system. The water is then sent through a filtration and seperated into home heating, hot water (189L) and cold water (500L) storage tanks.
